After a life of 95 wonderful years, Cassie Mae Fite entered her heavenly home on Friday, September 1, 2017.
As the seventh of eight children, Cassie was born on August 24, 1922 to James Schuyler Booher and Ella Mae Moon Booher in Hale Center, Texas.
On May 3, 1941 she married Edward Wylie Fite in Las Cruces, New Mexico. They were blessed with four children: Dale, Dennis, LaRue and Vivian. She enjoyed reading, quilt making for her children, telling jokes and even playing Dr Mario on her Nintendo. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Cassie was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years and granddaughter, Kynda Fite.
She is survived by her children Dale (Anita) Fite, Dennis Fite of Clovis, NM, La Rue (Dale) Prull of Cave Creek, AZ, Vivian (Charles) Strebeck of Kerrville, TX, grandchildren: Joseph Casarez III, Thomas Elliott Fite, Dustin Fite, Wesley Patterson, Dr. Thomas Patterson, Kala Strebeck Adair, and Tana Strebeck Althaus. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 10:00 am at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis, NM with Bill Case officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be each of her loving Grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Genesis, Plains Regional Hospital and Hospice of Clovis.
I met Cassie when I delivered meals to her. Enjoyed going to see her very much, she always had a smile and sometimes a joke. What a lovely lady ,I am so glad I had time with her. Blessing to the family, I met a couple of you over the years.
