James “Jim” Joseph Blevins peacefully left this earth surrounded by his children at his home on Friday, October 19, 2018. Jim was born December 31, 1943, in Eureka, Kansas, to Otis and Heleneta Blevins.
He graduated high school in 1962 from Vaughn, New Mexico. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1965 before he began his career with AT&SF Railroad in Clovis, New Mexico, in 1971. He embarked on an Amway journey which he supported wholeheartedly. He enjoyed his time as a driver for WDT and working on the pipeline with his sons. He married Iris Hendricks in 1967 and cherished his fifty years of marriage to her. His passion for hunting and being outdoors led him to find his unique talent in creating knives, leather goods, fur hats, and a log cabin in his own backyard. He continuously tried to perfect his technique in martial arts such as Aikido, Tae Kwon Do, and Jiu-Jitsu.
He is survived by his children, Bryan (Bridget) Blevins of Los Lunas, NM, Shannon (Randy) Pettigrew of Lovington, NM, Reese (Deana) Blevins of Blossom, TX, and Wade (Crystina) Blevins of Shawnee, OK; sister, Betty (Jimmie) Denton of Clovis, NM; grandchildren, Dillon Gibson, Rustin (Taylor) Blevins, Jordan (TJ) Reed, Brittany Pettigrew, JaNaé (Layton) Graham, Raine Pettigrew, Brooklyn Legate, Alie Pettigrew, and Isabella, Porter, & Brix Blevins; great-grandchildren, Makenzie & Haven Reed, Karter Gibson, Ellie Pettigrew, & Oakley Blevins and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis on Monday, October 29, 2018, at 11:00 a.m.

We treasure all the years we've had the honor to know Jim! Such great memories of our time with him and Iris going to meetings and functions. I've met few people who've had as great an attitude as Jim! He'll be missed.
