Tommy Gaylen Reese, age 76, a former resident of Clovis, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018. He was born September 12, 1942 in Dalhart, Texas.

Tommy was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth (Evans) Barnes; step-father, John Barnes; and father,
Horace “Buddy” Reese.

He is survived by his wife, Jacki Reese; daughters, Denise (Glenn) Norris, Elizabeth (Bill) Montgomery,
Aimee (Brandon) Coates, and Desri (James) Rigdon; his grandchildren, Chance and Brent (Natalie) Norris; Lauren, Larissa and Reese Montgomery; Garrett and Zachery Coates; Anisa Lucero; and Great-Granddaughter, Kendall Campos.

When he was very young, Tom was taken to the Baptist church by his grandmother and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior.

Tom worked many jobs from the age of 16, but he finally found his calling when he joined the New Mexico State Police; he retired as a Sergeant after 25 years. He also served as Curry County Undersheriff in Clovis for 4 years.

Tom had a love for airplanes that started at an early age when he watched the planes land, bringing his uncles back from WWII. At the age of 50 he got his pilot’s license to fly both gliders and powered planes.

When he was no longer able to fly as much as he wanted, he sold the plane, and bought a motorcycle. He was a member of a small but elite motorcycle gang known as The Geezers.

A celebration of Tom's life will be held at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018.
