Anneda Johnson

August 23, 1941 — May 13, 2024

Anneda Frances Johnson, 82, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away on May 13, 2024 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

A Rosary is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe with Rosa Marez officiating.

Mass Services will be immediately after the Rosary service at 11:30 a.m. with Father Sotero Sena officiating. A burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories. Arrangements have been made with Steed-Todd Funeral Home.

Frances was born in Clovis, New Mexico to Romolo Tiofilo and Aurelia Maria Martinez on August 23, 1941. She married Anthony Raymond Johnson on August 25, 1956 in Farwell, Texas. They spent 61 beautiful years together until his death in 2017.

Frances was a loving, caring, and nurturing person which led her to pursue a 25 year career as a child care provider. She also coordinated and worked many charity events for both St.Vincent De Paul and St.Rita's Society for over 40 years.

Throughout the years, Frances was not only a mother to her own children, but to over 150 children that she cared for through her daycare. Many of the children that she cared for kept in contact throughout their adult years. She was always careful to give her children a firm sense of emotional security and a sturdy foundation, thus, the hugs and affirmation were never lacking. She would always say "it takes a village to raise a child". We would sometimes wonder to ourselves if she was the person who came up with the saying because that is what she lived by.

Frances and Anthony worked many marriage enrichment's and crucillos's where many friendships were made and kept. They rented out some of their apartments located behind their home. As fate would have it, many of their tenants had disabilities, some with physical disabilities and some with mental disabilities. Frances loved all of them and nurtured and cared for all of them as if they were her own. Frances left a legacy of unconditional love. Her testimony to motherhood has instilled in her children and grandchildren a true sense of the word "Mom". Her face was the first face her children ever beheld and the last face they will behold for as long as they live. She was known as a loving friend, mother, grandmother and a sister.

Frances is survived by her loving children; Debbie Johnson, Lisa Chavez (Albuquerque), Mona Johnson (Albuquerque), Raymond (Lorraine) Johnson and Joan Ruth Johnson, Sisters; Geneva Barela, Madeline Velarde and Mary (Al) Lewis, brother; Edward (Teresa) Martinez, grandchildren; Kelly (Scott), Christina (Jackie), Raymond (Dominique), Kimiko (Chase), Ray J, LeAnn Cisco, Mona Lisa, Jason (Laura), Adriana (Jonathan), Broc (Alice), Priscilla, Frances (Caleb), Jeremiah, Isiah and Jazzmin, great-grandchildren; Chase, Michael, Josh, Marissia, Daniel, Charlie, Kimi, Destiny, Evany, Eilza Ray, Melody, Cadence, Anthony, Samuel, Isreal, Gabriel, Estevan, Anna, Symona and Louie, great-great-grandchildren; Adelina and Lucio.
