Bernardino (Benny) Baca of Clovis, New Mexico died on Saturday, October 22, 2022 in his home.

Please join the family for a Rosary at 1:30 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Steed Todd Funeral Home, Jon Forrest will Officiate. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass at 10:00 a.m. on Friday October 28, 2022 at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, New Mexico with burial followed at La Capillita del Santo Nino De Atocha in Dahlia, NM Father Franklin of Sacred Heart Parish will officiate.

Benny was born in Tecolotito, NM to Lorenzo and Manuelita Lucero de Baca on July 1, 1927. He was raised in Dahlia, New Mexico where he attended K-8 school and was a member of the Chapel of El Santo Nino de Atocha. He married Phoebe A. Bachicha in San Jose Catholic Church in August 1951. His life’s work was farming and ranching for his entire life. Spending many years farming in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. His greatest love was producing, directing and performing in rodeos providing entertainment to the communities of Anton Chico and surrounding areas. Benny loved music and composed many corridos and songs while he sat in his pickup selling his homegrown vegetables and fruits and a variety of trees, honey, and pinon. A hard working man of great and enduring faith has begun his journey home to his holy father.

Benny was preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo Baca, mother, Mela Baca, brothers; Eloy Baca and family, Delfinio Baca, Bonefacio Baca, Elizarrio Baca, and Lorenzo Baca Jr.; sisters, Adelia Encinias, Escipula Perea, Prestildonia Lucero, and Josephina Sanchez, beloved son, Marino David Baca, and grandson, Margarito L. Lozano and granddaughter, May Lauofo Lozano, former partner, Pauline Moore.

He is survived by, former spouse, Phoebe Baca, children: Mary Lou Lozano, Angelina Baca, and Jimmy M. Baca, Sisters: Andrea Armijo, of Anton Chico, NM Margaret Hogan of Livermore, CA and brother, Julian Baca, of La Loma, NM. Beloved grandchildren; Chris Lozano, Denise Sena, David Baca, Bryan Adam Sena, Jimmy Lee Baca, Diamond Baca, Cielo Marina Rodriguez, and Julian Lozano

Pall bearers are: Chris Lozano, Jimmy Lee Baca, Cielo M. Rodriguez, Dolores Bachicha, Roy Sanchez, and Freddie Bachicha.
