Beverly Ann Smith, 86, passed away on February 11, 2023 in Clovis, NM. Beverly was born in Milan, KS to Ernest and Marie Potts on November 5, 1936. Beverly attended high school at East Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas NM. She was married to Anthony Smith on December 19, 1965 in Las Vegas, NM. Beverly moved to Clovis with her family in 1979. Beverly worked at Clovis General Insurance for over 15 years and loved her boss, George Krattiger, and all the people she worked with over the years.


Beverly was a member of Scared Heart Catholic Church in Clovis, NM.  Beverly enjoyed and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They would spend summers with her where they were kings and queens of the house while visiting. She was the most loving mother, mother-in-law and wife. Beverly loved her dogs and cats they were treated like humans and anyone that visited were made aware of the household hierarchy.


Beverly is preceded in death by her parents Marie and Ernest Potts and her brothers Jackie and Vernon Potts.


Beverly is survived by her husband Anthony Smith of Clovis, daughter Vickie and son in law Gilbert Rivera of Rio Rancho and daughter Sherry and son in law Geoff Romero of Albuquerque, and son Jude and daughter in law Tiffeny Smith of Bula, Tx. Her grandchildren Sarah Sandoval of Las Vegas, Christina Garcia of Albuquerque, Skeeter Sandoval of Albuquerque, Michael Mares of Albuquerque, Anthony Mares of Orlando, Fl, Stephanie Mares of Albuquerque, Davis Smith of Bula, Tx and Dell Smith of Bula, Tx. Her great-grandchildren Ben Isaac Gutierrez, Shane Sandoval-Campbell, Peyton Mares, Colbie Mares, Given Garcia, and Christian Garcia.


Beverly would have liked any memorials to go to Scared Heart Catholic Church in Clovis, NM.


The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to Gabby Johnson and all the staff of Wheatfields and Makayla Gomez of Gentiva Hospice. They treated Beverly like a family member everyday she was at Wheatfields. Gratitude is greatly felt for Lydia Correa, caregiver for her love and friendship over the last five years. These are special people and the family appreciate them and their work.
