Charles Shields Jr

Charles Shields Jr, 70, was called to his eternal resting place on December 30, 2025 surrounded by his family. He entered this world on August 9, 1955 in Dallas, AL, born to Charles and Elizabeth Shields Sr. Charles served in the Air Force from 1981 - 2001.

Charles Shields passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and deep care for those he loved. He proudly served his country for 26 years in the United States military, spending six years in the Army and twenty years in the Air Force. His commitment, discipline, and sense of duty were evident in everything he did, both in uniform and at home.

Beyond his military service, Charles Shields found peace and joy in gardening. He took pride in watching things grow, much like the way he watched his grandchildren. His garden was a place of reflection, hard work, and quiet happiness.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Marie Shields; his children, Adam Codling of Clovis NM, Charles Shields of Clovis NM,; his daughter- laws Tille Lopez and Brianna Shields; his grandchildren Celina Lopez, Aliyah Lopez, Jazmin Lopez, Nadia Shields and Leona Shields. Charles was a dedicated husband, a proud father and loving grandfather. He loved his family with all his heart.
