He had been anbradministrator at the Baptist Hospital on Prince Street in Clovis, where Maxine also worked as a nurse. He was a chaplain in the U. S. Army and after discharge sened Baptist churches in Eastern New Mexico and West Texas as pastor, performing weddings burials from 1940 to 1990.
