David "Duke" Dannheim, 62, of Lubbock Texas went to his heavenly home on August 16, 2017.
David was born August 7, 1955 to William and Lorine Dannheim in Farwell TX. The story was that David was the only person on record born in Farwell. The clinic closed shortly after his birth. He came into this word a ball player. He was an all star baseball player as a youngster growing up to play football and basketball. David was on the golf team in high school where he graduated "All Sate" in basketball.
Fresh out of high school he went on the road with the band "Baby" traveling all over the Midwest in the early 70's meeting and working with many up and coming rock and roll music stars. That's where the long haired, left handed country boy was given the title "Duke". Duke settled down to start his own families coaching every sport his boys played. He was also an umpire for little league. As his boys grew older Duke never missed any sport they participated in. In the last few years he has become his grandchildren's biggest fan.
Duke was involved in all aspects of the roofing industry for most of his life. He was also a truck broker for many years enjoying the fast paced life trucking required.
Duke never met a stranger and left memories everywhere he went, His favorite thing to say was "It's all good". He never missed a Dallas Cowboy game a Texas Rangers game, or a golf tournament on TV. He has been known to watch all 3 at the same time. Duke played golf every chance he had. He even built a golf course in the pasture on the farm near Hereford, TX.
Duke married Vicki Axe Davis, in June of 1996 in Olton, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Lorine Dannheim and his brother Charles.
