Dionysio “Denny” Sena Ruiz, age 82, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Clovis, New Mexico.
Dionysio was born on April 8, 1937 in Clovis, New Mexico to loving parents, Joe P. Ruiz and Albina Sena. On July 27, 1996, Dionysio married the love of his life, his wife, Ellen Garcia.
Dionysio was a United States Army veteran, and after loyally serving his country for many years, he worked for Ealy Furniture. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and enjoyed worshiping with his family and friends. Dionysio was a music lover and played the guitar in his own band, Denny & Diatonics, in 1962. His band was greatly talented and even opened for Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison.
He made many great accomplishments in his career and personal life, and Dionysio was a family man through and through. He enjoyed doing yardwork and loved to be surrounded by his many family and friends during their many gatherings. All who knew Dionysio will miss his presence, his stories, and his smiles.
Dionysio Ruiz is preceded in death by his father, Joe Ruiz; his mother, Albina Sena; brothers, Marcello, Joe, Johnny, and Lupe; and sister, Marie
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ellen; sons Denny, Lorenzo, Gilbert, and Eddie; daughter, Amanda; brothers Lorenzo Ruiz of Grants, NM and Gabriel Ruiz of Las Cruces, NM; sisters, Phyllis; Judy and Clara of California; Mary Alvin of Arizona; Chris of Albuquerque; and Ruby of Oklahoma; 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Rosary services for Dionysio will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 10:00AM with Mass following at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
