Edward "Shorty" Morris

Edward "Shorty" Morris, 78 of Clovis, Owner of Shorty Morris Construction, passed away on April 29, 2026 in Clovis.

Viewing will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, May 4, 2026. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Portales Cemetery.

Edward was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 20, 1947 to Edward Morris and Neva Hodge. He married Kathy Levern Ellerd on January 28, 1969. In 1964, he joined the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War until 1968. He later started Shorty Morris Construction and owned that for 20 years before his retirement.

Shorty is preceded in death by his parents Edward Morris and Neva Hodge, and two sisters Kathy and Anita Morris.

Shorty is survived by his wife, Kathy Morris of Clovis; four children, Beverly Slade (Donnie), Joanne Baird (Keith), Jessica Qualls (Justin) and John Morris (Crystal); sister, Marlene Ellsworth; 10 grandchildren, Casey Walters (Joshua), Kristi Hall (Caleb Dougherty), Amber Hall (Gabby Sanchez), Cody Qualls, Melissa Holman (Marshall), Emily Qualls (David Baca), Sammy Martin, Abigail Morris (Connor Arriola), Kimberly Morris and Cordale Martin; 6 great-grandchildren, Aaron Hullett, Elena Hullett, Estella Dougherty, Flizay, Braxton and Karson; extended family, Alvin Ellerd, Debra Ellerd, Stephanie Ellerd, Rebecca Ellerd and Knoah Ellerd, Cynthia Francis and Janet; and many friends and acquaintances.
