It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Ellen M. (Broderick) Campbell, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.
Born on April 20, 1937, in Walthill, Nebraska, Ellen was the cherished daughter of Bernard M. and Perlina E. (Tucker) Broderick. Her life journey came to a peaceful close on August 16, 2026.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponca, Nebraska, on September 10, 2026, at 10:30 am. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, Nebraska.
Ellen's life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and devotion. She graduated from Pender High School in Nebraska, where she laid the foundation for a life dedicated to her family and community. On June 30, 1955, Ellen and Glen E. Campbell began their life together in Tacoma, Washington, united in a marriage that spanned nearly six decades and many cities, as Glen was a career Air Force man. Together they raised six sons, each of whom carries forward her legacy of kindness, strength, and love. After Ellen's children were raised, she was employed by Vanderberg Air Force Base Hospital until she retired in 2002. She found joy in the simple pleasures, such as playing Keno during her travels from home-an activity that she truly enjoyed.
Ellen is survived by her devoted sons: David and his wife Colleen, Jon, Jeffrey, Ronald, and Donald and his wife Rebecca. Her family includes her brother, Mike Broderick, and his wife, Lois, as well as her sister , Patty Sullivan, and her husband, Nick. Ellen was also blessed with the joy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and happiness in her life.
Ellen was predeceased by her loving husband, Glen, who passed away on May 6, 2014, as well as her parents, Bernard and Perlina, her parents-in-law, Millard and Reva Campbell, her son Richard E. Campbell, daughter-in-law Mary Joanne Campbell, and grandson Michael Campbell.
As we say goodbye to Ellen, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart that touched all who knew her, and a soul that will forever remain in our hearts. May her memory be a blessing to us all.
