She taught school in a one room schoolhouse south of Taloga, Oklahoma before moving to Lake Valley where she also taught school. Flora and Noble moved to California for a short time and returned to Lake Valley where the family ran a country store and farmed.brbrFlora was a member of Eastern Star and was the worthy Matron of the Gotebo Chapter in the late 1940s. After her husbands death in 1963, Flora moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico in 1966 to be near her daughter and worked as a school cafeteria cashier. In 1971 she moved to Clovis where she was actively involved in many programs at Baxter-Curren Senior Citizen Center for over 25 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
