Grace Mozelle Kinsky, 94, was gathered to her people on Saturday, November 9, 2019, and will be buried at Lawn Haven Cemetery in Clovis, NM.
Mozelle was born November 25, 1924 in Throckmorton, TX, the daughter of William Van Douglas and Eula Boynton Douglas. She spent most of her youth in Lamb County, TX, where she went to Hart Camp Elementary School and attended junior and senior high school in Cotton Center; she graduated from Carlsbad High School in New Mexico in 1942.
Mozelle married Ed Kinsky on May 26, 1948 in Carlsbad. They celebrated 71 anniversaries. During their lives together, they lived in Carlsbad, NM, Deming, NM, Colorado Springs, CO, Albuquerque, NM, Portland, OR, Farmington, NM, Hart Camp, TX, Santa Fe, NM, Silver City, NM, Littlefield, TX, and Clovis, NM. After Ed’s passing, Mozelle resided in Canyon, TX, and finally at Prairie Acres Nursing Home in Friona, TX.
A majority of Mozelle's life was dedicated to being a homemaker, but she also served for a time as a CNA in the care of others. As a Southern Baptist, she loved to attend church, sing in the choir, teach Vacation Bible School, and spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to whomever would lend an ear. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Clovis. She was deeply involved in her boys' education as a homeroom mother, school event sponsor, and kitchen table tutor.
Mozelle was preceded in death by her husband Ed; her parents Van and Eula Douglas of Littlefield, TX; sister Velma Flook of Silver City, NM; brother Winston (Bud) and his wife Rae Douglas of Los Alamos, NM; brother Orlando and his wife Virginia of Etna, CA; sister Lorena (Bobbie) and her husband Paul Teal of Deming, NM.
Mozelle is survived by her son Edward Kinsky and his wife, Emily, of Canyon, TX; son Paul Kinsky of Albuquerque, NM; and grandchildren, Josiah and Katie Grace Kinsky, of Canyon.
