alignjustify Hazel Nash Thompson, 88, of Clovis, NM passed away at 6 am, Wednesday, 11 July, 2007. She succumbed due to congestive heart failure after a complicated series of illnesses. She was an in-patient at Vista Care Hospice in Lubbock, TX at the time of her passing.
alignjustify She was preceded in death by her first husband, John T. Gilbert Sr. in 1962; and her second husband, John D. Thompson in 1988; a son, Richard E. Gilbert in 1995; and a son, Harry J. Gilbert in 2004.
alignjustify She is survived by son, John T. Gilbert, Jr. and his wife Pamela of Clovis; a son, George N. Gilbert and his wife Rebecca of Hayward, CA; stepson, John D. Thompson and his wife Teril of Clovis, stepson, Dwight Thompson of Clovis; stepson Steven Thompson of Lovington, NM; and stepdaughter, Shirley Thompson Witt of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
alignjustify Mrs. Thompson worked most of her life in the food service industry as a waitress, cook, and restaurant owner. In her later years she was a school crossing guard for the Clovis Municipal School System. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Clovis.
alignjustifyServices will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 13, 2007 at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis with Rev. Harry Reiser officiating. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery in Melrose, NM.
