Iris Blevins

Iris Darlene Blevins entered into her heavenly home on Friday, January 19, 2018. She was born November 6, 1947 in Stockton, California to Jack and Verlene Hendricks. She graduated from Roswell High School in 1965. At the sweet age of 20, she married the love of her life, Jim Blevins, in Belen, New Mexico, and there began their waltz.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and she never met a stranger. Wherever she went, laughter and joy followed along with a prank or two. With unwavering faith, Iris believed in complete healing from her cancer. Even to the end, she knew His ways are higher than our ways and His perfect will is always fulfilled. God's Glory was evident in the many lives she touched during her journey. She surrounded herself with many treasured friends on the mountaintops and through the valleys. She lived her life to the fullest and was the bright spark in any room.

She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Jim Blevins, of Clovis, NM; her "girls", Danci & Little Girl; children, Bryan (Bridget) Blevins of Los Lunas, NM, Shannon (Randy) Pettigrew of Lovington, NM, Reese (Deana) Blevins of Blossom, TX, and Wade (Crystina) Blevins of Shawnee, OK; sister, Laretha (Chuck) Rodery of Roswell, NM; brother, Derrick (Kimberly) Hendricks of Artesia, NM. "Gram" dearly loved her grandchildren, Dillon Gibson, Rustin (Taylor) Blevins, Jordan (TJ) Reed, Brittany Pettigrew, JaNaé (Layton) Graham, Raine Pettigrew, Brooklyn Legate, Alie Pettigrew, and Isabella, Porter, & Brix Blevins; great-grandchildren, Makenzie & Haven Reed, Karter Gibson, Ellie Pettigrew, & Oakley Blevins, aunts, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Christian Family Church in Clovis, NM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Honorary pallbearers are Douglas Shannon, Lonnie Hendricks, Larry Hendricks, David Hendricks, Jimmy Hendricks, Scotty Hendricks, Ricky Hendricks, Steve Hendricks, Derrick Hendricks, Jimmie Denton, & Dwain Glidewell.
