Jerry Garcia

August 13, 1953 — January 23, 2024

Jerry Michael Garcia, age 70, passed away January 23,2024 peacefully in his home. He was born in Clovis, New Mexico and was the son of Miguel Sanchez Garcia and Emilia Luz Casaus.

He attended Melrose Schools and excelled in basketball, football and track. After he graduated he moved to North Carolina and worked as a welders helper, he then moved back to New Mexico where he became part owner of National Transmissions where he also worked as a transmission mechanic.

He is survived by his wife Marcella of 47 years, daughter Michelle and son-in-law Dusty Hoyl, a son Sam Garcia, granddaughter Amberli and her husband Dylan Simmons, 2 grandsons Nathan Hoyl and Ayden Garcia, one great-grandson Jett Wilder Simmons, his two sisters Margaret Fisher and Eva Spears, brother Larry Garcia, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Ruben Garcia and Fred Garcia.

He was a loved man and will be missed deeply by all family and friends.

Services will be held at Saint Catherine's Catholic Church in Melrose, New Mexico on Monday, March 11,2024. The Rosary will begin at 9:00 am with Mass following at 9:30 am.
