Jim Bowman was born July 26, 1958 to James and Juanice Fryar Bowman, and went peacefully to rest with both of them, April 16, 2021.
A true Cowboy, Jim began his first job training horses and working on a ranch at the age of 9. His passion for horses continued, leading to many years training racehorses, running Clovis Sale barn, and his job as a Horseshoer. He also spent almost a decade of his life as a Bullrider.
Jim was an avid sportsman. He loved to play and compete in football and softball, and spent many years coaching his children's basketball and softball teams. He also loved to play Pool, participating in and leading a team as a long time member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles. He served as band chairman and Chaplain for the F.O.E. as well.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Debbie, both parents, and many treasured aunts and uncles, and dear friends. Jim is survived by his daughters Misty Bowman, Jennifer Bowman, and Crystal (Rodney) Carman. Sons Jim Bob (Melissa) Bowman, David (Becky) Burress, and Rusty (Staci) Burress. Two adopted sons Jonel Goodman and Bill Dudley. Fourteen grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother John (Robin) Bowman, 3 sisters Jatonna (Joe) Hankins, Janea (David) Lawson, Paula (John) Lesher Whisenhunt, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Grave side service will be held Wednesday April 21, 2021 at 2 pm at Grady Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustyn Cole, Chris Thomas, Jonel Goodman, Jimmy Docherty, Wesley Jones, Floyd Jones, and Dan McBride.
