Jimmalee Nieves

Jimmalee Nieves, age 91, of Clovis, NM passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at her home. She was born on September 24, 1925 in Granite, Oklahoma to the home of James Godfrey and Orene (Everett) Godfrey.

Jimmalee graduated from ENMU with a Associates Degree in Legal Secretarial Sciences in the 1940's. She married Benny Nieves, December 2, 1962 in Clovis, New Mexico. She was an excellent seamstress and made a lot of her own dress suits and often entered her clothing in fairs. She loved taking care of her home and was known as a clean freak.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Benny, a sister, Imogene Godfrey and a grandson, Joshua Barker.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her sons, Dr. Keith Barker (Tonya) of Clovis, NM and Dr. Paul Nieves (Debbie) of Union City, TN.; grandchildren, Bryce Clark, Bryton Clark, and Kristen (Matt) Watson, Brittany Nieves and Mitchell Nieves; great grandchildren, Benjamin Watson, Joshua Watson, and Paisley Nieves; and one sister, Fern Stewart.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, June 3, 2017 in the Steed-Todd Chapel with Pastor Michael Harmon officiating. Interment will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
