John "Butch" Dunn, 75, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away on April 24, 2024 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico. A Celebration of Life will be held at Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis, New Mexico on Friday May 3, 2024 at 11:00 am.

Butch was born in Clovis, New Mexico to John C. and Alva Dunn. Butch married the love of his life Kathy (Jennings) in Portales, New Mexico on August 20, 1972. Together, Butch and Kathy owned and operated the Towne Crier in Clovis, New Mexico for 45 years until their retirement in 2017. Butch served in the United States National Guard. He enjoyed his family immensely and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He had a great love of food and liked to try new things... except sushi, that was a no. He was a jokester and played pranks on anyone and everyone. He was always full of great conversation and he never met a stranger. He had a great love for dogs especially "Rusty" his golden retriever that went everywhere with him.

Butch is preceded in death by both his parents, mother-in-law Helen Jennings and brother-in-law Gary Jennings.

He is survived by his wife Kathy, his daughter Michelle Dunn and fiance Paul Hill, his son Chad Dunn and wife Charla, one grandson Colton Dunn, two step-grandsons Colby Evans and Brady Evans and wife Reegan, step-great-grandson Maverick Evans, two sisters Stanley "Cookie" Brooks and husband Steve, Linda Jameson and husband L.J., father-in-law Jack Jennings, two brothers-in-law Randy Jennings and wife Perri, and Steve Jennings and wife Rosa and sister-in-law Sheila Jennings. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
