John Allen Liles, August 7, 1938 - May 10, 2026

John was born to Joe H. (Jodie) and Lillian Dunn Liles on August 7, 1938, in Memphis Texas. The family soon moved to Endee, New Mexico. He attended Endee School until it consolidated with Porter School. Porter Schools consolidated with San Jon Schools John's senior year. He graduated from San Jon Schools in 1956 and married his High School sweetheart Bonnie Rhea Robbins in 1957.

Bonnie proceeded him in death on August 17, 1988. The date was their 31st wedding anniversary. John married another beautiful and wonderful lady, Reydonia Founds Liles on September 21, 1993. Raye, as she was affectionally known proceeded John in death on March 20, 2005.

John worked for Quay county maintaining roads for 26 years from 1969 - 1995.

John is survived by his two children, Justin Allen Liles and Julia Ann (Randy) Robertson. Grandpa Johnnie has six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

John loved to golf with his son Justin and buddies, Bob Frost, Franklin Flint, Jay Carney, and Clair Rachor. Many fun days were had at the Tucumcari golf course. John also enjoyed playing the domino game 42, the card game Squeak with his family, and pool with his great- grandsons. More recent years he enjoyed spending time with his good friend Betty Sanders. A viewing is scheduled for May 12, 2026 from 4PM to 6PM at Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held at the San Jon Cemetery on June 05, 2026 starting at 11:00am with a memorial lunch following the graveside service. Everyone is invited.
