Juan Moya

March 21, 1937 — February 1, 2024

Our beloved John "Tiny" Moya, 86, of Clovis, New Mexico, was called home into the loving arms of our Lord on February 1, 2024. John was born in Pastura, New Mexico on March 21, 1937, to Jose and Beatrice Moya.

John received a high school education and shortly after served in the United States Army from 1955-1958. While in the Army, John earned his Parachutist Badge. After being honorably discharged from the Army, John worked at Swift Packing Company for many years, and then with the HUD Housing Maintenance Department where he retired from after many years.

Many knew him as a kindhearted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, companion and friend. John had many friends and was active in the community. John accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and also served at Kids For Christ Outreach Ministry. He also volunteered at many places including the Food Bank, La Casa Senior Center, Los Abuelitos, Matt 25 and the Salvation Army. John and Jane were both involved in the Senior Olympics where they received multiple medals.

John is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sinfarosa Moya, and his brothers Bobby and Leo Moya, and daughter, Martina Vale.

Those left to cherish his memory are his companion Jane Madrid and her daughter Dee Madrid, his daughter Kelly Diomede, sister Edwina George, grandchildren Felicia (Frankie) Estrada, Matthew Rivera, and Destiny Diomede, great-grandchildren Christopher Gaillard, Tanaysha Gaillard, Timothy Estrada, Matthew Rivera Jr., Meilani Morris and Kahlea Morris, great-great-grandchildren Gaige Thompson and Elijah Estrada.

Pallbearers include Teddy Marez, Albert Marez, Steve Marez, Albert Garcia, Marco Esparza and Daniel Sandoval. Honorary Pallbearers include Dee Madrid, Angie Madrid, Victor Madrid and Jane Madrid's nieces and nephews.

A Rosary service will be held at Steed-Todd Funeral Home on February 7, 2024, from 5-7pm. A Celebration of Life church service officiated by Pastor. Terry Rasco will be held at Steed-Todd Funeral Home at 10:00am on February 8, 2024. Graveside Services will be immediately after services at Mission Garden of Memories Cemetery.
