Julia Maria Lueras, 86, of Clovis, NM passed away on November 20, 2025, in Lubbock, TX at Crowne Point Health Suites.

A rosary and family visitation will be held on Monday, 11/24 at 6:00 pm at Steed Todd Funeral Home, 800 E Manana Blvd, Clovis, NM 88101. A funeral mass of the resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, 11/25 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 921 N Merriwether St, Clovis, NM with Father Sotero Sena officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Lawn Haven Cemetery in Clovis, New Mexico. Arrangements are being conducted by Steed Todd Funeral Home.

Julia, born on January 28, 1939, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Edward and Elmira Gonzales, lived a life filled with faith, dedication, and love. On June 23, 1956, she married the love of her life, Charlie "Carlos" Lueras, and together they built a beautiful family and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Julia was known for her strong work ethic and her generous heart. She devoted countless hours as a volunteer, baked with exceptional talent, and was an avid Bingo player who enjoyed the fun and fellowship it brought. Gifted in crafts and deeply passionate about cooking for her loved ones, Julia created a warm and welcoming home where everyone felt cared for.

Her legacy-rooted in her faith and her unwavering love for the Lord-remains unmatched and continues to inspire all who knew her.

She is proceeded in death and rejoicing with her parents Edward and Elmira Gonzales, brothers Edward, Rudy, Reyes, Johnny, granddaughter Stephanie and the love of her life Charlie.

Julia is survived by many who love and cherish her, including her children, Marie Baca (Herb), Carla Lueras Fisher (Philip), Eddie Lueras (Laura), Rick Lueras (Adriana), Rosa Lopez (Mardo); Her grandchildren, Jessica Apodaca, Veronica Lueras, Valentina Lueras, Paula Hutcheson (Lee), Valerie Lueras, Cassandra Lueras (Tyler), Karlee Jankowski, Edward Lueras and Eduardo Gallegos. 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and her sister, Irene Rodriuez (Juan). She is also remembered with love by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, generosity, and faith.

Pallbearers will be: Jessica Apodaca, Veronica Lueras, Valentina Lueras, Paula Hutcheson, Valerie Romero, Cassandra Lueras, Karlee Jankowski and Edward Lueras.

Honorary Pallbearers: Lee Hutcheson, Joshuwa Apodaca, Andrew Lyden, Mario E. Gonzales Jr, Brennon Hutcheson and Eduardo Gallegos.


The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and PT/OT staff from Crowne Point Suites who assisted in her care and smiles. A huge "thank you" to Deacon Andy, Lubbock TX, all the family, friends, and acquaintances for their love, support and prayers during this difficult time. The family will be receiving visitors at 2301 Marlene Blvd. Clovis, NM 88101
