Kathryn Burns Skarda, 89, died peacefully early in the morning of February 7, 2005 atbrRetirement Ranch in Clovis, NM.brbrShe is survived by her husband, Lynell G. Skarda, and children, Jeffrey J. Skarda ofbrHouston, Texas, Dr. Patricia L. Skarda of Northhampton, MA, Katrina S. Green of Colorado Springs, CO, and Gregory A.F. Skarda of Clovis, NM. She was preceded in death by her father Frank S. Burns and mother Mary Lyons Burns both of Clovis, NM., a sister, Mary McKinney, and brothers James F. Burns and Thomas E. Burns.brbrKathryn was born November 25, l9l5, and graduated in the first class from Sacred HeartbrSchool in Clovis, NM., attended Mt. Scholastica College in Atchison, KS. and obtained her Registered Nurse certification from St. J oseph's Hospital in San Francisco, CA. She nursed at the Baptist Hospital in Clovis and was on the opening staff of Clovis Memorial Hospital. Golf and duplicate bridge brought her much enjoyment. For many years she sang in the choir and served as a member of Sacred Heart Altar Society.brbrCremation has taken place and Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Community Church with Father Carlos Chavez, celebrant.brbrSteed-Todd Funeral Home is handling arrangements.br
