LaRonda Beth Holmberg, a longtime resident of Clovis and Ruidoso, New Mexico, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a loving family, lifelong friendships, and many cherished memories.
LaRonda was born at home in Clovis, New Mexico, to James Williams and Yvonne Mercadante. She earned her high school diploma and spent much of her life between Clovis and Ruidoso, two communities she was proud to call home.
LaRonda was a hardworking, independent woman who built a life defined by determination, entrepreneurship, and a spirit of adventure. She worked for more than 15 years at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack, where she became a familiar and valued presence. Throughout the years, she also owned and operated several businesses, reflecting her entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic, and determination to make her own way in life.
Family was an important part of LaRonda's life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride and joy in her family. She is survived by her son, Christopher Stettheimer, and his wife, Joni, of Ruidoso; and her beloved grandchildren, Carson Stettheimer and Chandler Stettheimer, of Ruidoso. She is also survived by her step-brothers, David Smith and Larry Smith.
LaRonda was blessed with friendships that lasted a lifetime. She valued people who became part of her journey and created memories with friends that will be treasured for years to come.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, James Williams and Yvonne Mercadante, and her step-brother, Guy Smith.
LaRonda will be remembered for her independent spirit, determination, resilience, and the many lives she touched along the way. Most of all, she will be remembered and deeply missed by her family, lifelong friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
