Larry Tate

November 14, 1941 — December 9, 2022

Larry was born to A V "Blue" Tate & Willie Lorene (Bailey) Tate on November 14,1941. He went to join his parents and other loved ones on December 9, 2022.

He served in the Navy from 1963 thru 1967. Upon returning home, he used VA Benefits to learn the Diesel Mechanics trade. This was very beneficial in the career he truly loved as a "Long Haul Driver". He also loved all aspects of farming. Most of all, he loved raising his children with the help of his parents. He took them with him any chance he could.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents A V "Blue" Tate and Willie Lorene ( Bailey) Tate; Grandson Damien Tate; and adopted brother Jackie Dunlap and wife Dorothy Dunlap.

He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Tate Harris; son, Cory Tate; daughter, Derenda Tate; Grandson, Jordan Tate; Granddaughter, Jayda Tate; and numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Special thanks to Brenard Turnipseed for all the time spent taking Larry to appointments at the Amarillo VA.

Cremation will be done by Steed Todd Funeral Home and no services will be held.

LARRY’S LAST RIDE

He traveled the roads

In years gone past

A life he chose and

Hoped it would last

Driving all night

From state to state

Trying to get home

And arriving so late.

He parked his truck now

His engine has stopped

And those who love him

Their hearts have dropped

He traveled the country

With a smile of pride

Now he drives the streets of Heaven

On the trucker’s last ride.

MAY GOD RIDE WITH YOU…. 10-4 GOOD BUDDY AND GOODBYE
