Lavon Crubaugh

LaVon Janet Crubaugh, 84, of Clovis New Mexico died on Thursday, August 5 ^th at her home. She was born February 17, 1937, on the family farm in Fennimore Wisconsin to Ralph Robert Stimpson and Mary Edna Ward.

LaVon grew up on a dairy farm near Lancaster Wisconsin and graduated Highschool from Lancaster High in 1954 and married Melvin Crubaugh on November 27, 1955 in Lancaster WI. Some of her favorite activities included gardening, reading and sewing. As a young woman she made a decision to follow Christ. She taught Sunday School for many years and loved each of her students. She was a member of Westbrook Baptist Church since 1968. Her church family was precious to her.

LaVon is survived by her seven children. She has four daughters: Susan Heiermann (John) of Celina Texas, Peggy Smith (Tom) of Celina Texas, Jane Finch (Joel) of Clovis New Mexico and Jennifer Harger (John) of Austin Texas. Her three sons are Jeffrey Crubaugh (Linda) of St. Joseph Missouri, David Crubaugh of Las Vegas Nevada and Timothy Crubaugh of Clovis New Mexico. She has 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

LaVon was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, her parents Ralph and Mary Stimpson, her sister-in-law Bertie Lou Stimpson and her brothers Fred, Robert and Dennis Stimpson.

Visitation will be at Steed Todd Funeral Home on Thursday, August 12 ^th from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 13 ^th at Westbrook Baptist Church N. Thornton Street in Clovis with Pastor Furgus Tunnell officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers will be grandsons Andrew Heiermann, Cory Pierce, Jeremy Beevers, Brian Finch, John Harger and close family friend Ronnie Marez. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steed Todd Funeral Home, 800 E Manana, Clovis NM 88101, 575-763-5541, www.SteedTodd.com .
