Obituary

In Loving Memory of Luis Segovia
Luis Segovia passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, love, and a family who will forever cherish him.
Luis was a devoted husband who shared 50 years of marriage with his late wife, Rita Peña.
Their life together was filled with love, family, and many memories that will continue to live on through those who knew and loved them.
Luis proudly served his country after being recruited in 1971, serving through 1977 and spending time in places including Oakland, California, St. Louis, Missouri, and Korea. After his military service, Luis spent many years driving 18-wheelers. He took great pride in his work as a truck driver and was proud of the dedication, independence, and hard work that came with the job. His work behind the wheel became an important part of his life and something he was always proud of.
Above all, Luis was a family man. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones, his children including his 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who brought him tremendous joy and gave him many memories to treasure. His family will remember him for the life he lived, the work he was proud of, the love he gave, and the memories he created with them.
Luis is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita Peña, who passed away two years before him. And his parents.
Though he is no longer with us, Luis's memory will continue to live on through his family and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy will remain in the stories shared, the lessons passed down, and the love that will continue from one generation to the next.
Rest peacefully, Luis. You will be deeply loved, forever remembered, and never forgotten. ❤️🪽
