Marcella Irene Gonzales the soul and foundational pillar of her family peacefully entered into eternal rest July 13, 2026 at the age of 86.
She was born to Macario Gonzales and Dolores Chavez on October 13, 1939 in Gonzales Ranch, New Mexico. She spent 86 years creating a legacy entirely of love, grace, and fierce devotion to those she held dear. To know her was to feel safe, valued and completely loved.
She was a true pillar of our family, a steady comforting presence who guided multiple generations with her quiet strength, resilience and borderless wisdom. Marcella possessed a rare warmth that made everyone feel at home in her presence whether she was hosting holidays, cooking for weddings, baby showers, and sometimes one of her famous good ol bean burritos. Her life was a beautiful master class in how to love family unconditionally. She was our confidant, our biggest cheerleader, and the glue that held us all together.
While our hearts are heavy with physical absence, we find immense comfort in the reunion in peace with her beloved husband Antonio Reyes Ramirez and parents Macario and Dolores Gonzales and siblings Eloy Gonzales, Adan Gonzales, Fabian Gonzales, Lydia Quintana, Betty Montañez, Amalia Gonzales, Rita Gonzales, Criselda Gonzales, Deluvina Alade, and son in law George Tafoya, and beloved great grandson Marcos Antonio Ramirez.
Her incredible legacy of love lives on through her Children Dolores (Rafael) Chavira, Lucille (Pancho) Valadez, Eileen (Pedro) Gomez, Debbie (Gustavo) Galvan, Tonie (Javier) Galvan, Antonio Jr Ramirez, Anna Ramirez, Mike Ramirez. Siblings Matias Gonzales, Peggy Soria, Rebecca (Peter) Rodriguez, Ernestine (Elizardo) Gonzales 23 cherished grand children, 64 loved great grand children and 31 precious great great grand children; and the countless extended family members and friends who became family because of her open heart.
