Mary McKenzie

On January 19,2024, God called a special angel home, Mary Jon McKenzie (Johnson). She was born on October 4.1950, to Eddie Grover and Juanita Johnson in El Paso, Texas.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Peter P. McKenzie Sr, her brother Kevin Edward Johnson and children of Fairfield, California, her two cats Izzy and Lizzy, and extended family members.

Mary Jon and Peter were married on February 13,1982, in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Mary Jon was a 1978 graduate of Eastern New Mexico University and earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology.

Mary Jon struggled with COPD but never let that keep her from assisting those who needed a friend or help. She supported numerous charities and generously volunteered her time to local organizations. Mary Jon loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in the successful landscaping and nursery business she and Peter built together.

God put love in Mary Jon's heart, she truly was an angel on earth and will certainly continue her efforts in heaven.

In lieu of flowers, Mary's family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
