Obituary

Marynell Urban, 86, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away peacefully in her home on October 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family .

Marynell was born in Clovis on October 4, 1940 to Kenneth and Katherine McCullough, where she resided her entire life. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1958. She married John Urban on July 23, 1960, and together they had three children: Charlotte, Ken and John.

In her lifetime, Marynell was defined by her devotion to family, her church, and her community. She was a faithful member of First Methodist Church in Clovis her entire life. For over a decade, she lovingly served monthly meals to college students at the Wesley House at Eastern New Mexico University. She was an active member of Circle Five, a women's group, where she prepared countless bereavement dinners and helped provide meals for other special events and gatherings.

Family was always a priority in Marynell's life. She was actively involved in her children's activities, taking them to piano lessons and piano recitals, preparing and selling hot dogs at football games, and attending band competitions. She even served as the school secretary for a time, allowing her to be more present in her children's lives.
Marynell had a gift for making people feel loved and cared for, through her warm hospitality and servanthood. She always made sure everyone around her was welcomed, comfortable and well fed. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren treasured their time at Grandma's house where they were always surrounded by love and never left hungry.

Marynell is survived by her two sons Ken Urban and his wife Janell, John Urban and his wife Charissa; her brother Bob McCullough and his wife Gwen; her beloved grandchildren: Christi Mazzei and her husband Phil, Camille Skaer and her husband Ben, James Urban and his wife Kelly, Heather Phillips and her husband Jeff, Jeremy Urban, Simeon Urban and his wife Jessica, Liesel King and her husband Jordan, Jude Urban and his wife Jessie, Hope Caudill and her husband Steven, Ava Urban, Joseph Urban, Zoya Urban; her great grandchildren Oliver and Finnegan Phillips, Luke and Micah Mazzei, Charlotte and William Skaer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Katherine McCullough, her husband John Urban, and her daughter Charlotte Cobo.

Marynell will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her, but her family finds comfort in the promise of seeing her again. Her faith in Jesus was important to her, and there is peace knowing that she is now in His presence.
