Merlyn Coulter

July 9, 1949 — July 29, 2017

Merlyn K. Coulter, 68, entered into Eternal Peace on July 29, 2017, after a long illness at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico. Merlyn was born on July 9, 1949 in Kermit, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Horace and Lillian Coulter. She graduated from Kermit High School in 1967. She worked in the retail business for several years until she became too ill to work any longer. Merlyn was baptized in the Church of Christ at a young age and truly loved our Lord and Savior. Merlyn was a very kind and warm hearted soul that really did care about other people and their feelings. She had a very loving heart. She leaves her memories to be cherished by her sisters, Janis Choate and husband Mike of Gilmer, Texas and her twin sister Cherlyn Bertrand and husband Jeryl of Jennings, Louisiana. Her adoring niece Lisa Daigle and her husband Jared, of Jennings, Louisiana, Ariane Rhea and husband Kenny of Llano, Texas, Michaeline Adams and husband Jon of Lubbock, Texas. Her grandchildren Rimzi, Taeya, Zain, and Keelie Bennett of Picayune, Mississippi, Harleigh, Harley, and Connor Dawson of Clovis, New Mexico. She leaves her memories to also be cherished by her children, Billy Paul Elliot and wife Jan of Emory, Texas, Chris Dawson and wife Connie of Clovis, New Mexico, Leslie Michelle Bennett and husband Kelly of Picayune, Mississippi and William Chance Forga of Picayune, Mississippi. Also in loving memory, she cherishes the memories of Jaxon and Heath Rhea, Lillian and Dean Adams, Tyler and Adilyn Daigle. Merlyn's two surviving aunts Marie Parker of Lubbock, Texas and Rena Berry of Dublin, Texas. Merlyn also leaves her cherished pit bulls, Jetta and Jenny that really didn't realize they were dogs. She loved and treated them like her children. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite cancer charity. Numerous loving family, friends and cousins will be truly missed. A private Memorial Service will be announced at a later and held at the Winkler County Cemetery in Kermit, Texas.
