Nita Dobbs

Nita Beth Dobbs, 84, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Saturday, February 7, 2026, at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. She was born March 2, 1941, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Vernon and Ellen Estes.

She married Dick Dobbs on December 29, 1963, in Clovis. She taught kindergarten at Zia Elementary for 30 years and worked at the Masters Book Store in Clovis for several years. Her hobbies included reading, scrapbooking, watching sports—especially basketball—and doing crafts with her grandchildren. She had a Yorkie named Lucy, whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her son, Vernon Dobbs (Felicia); grandsons, Tucker Dobbs (Logan) and Roland Chavez (Joelle); granddaughters, Alejandra Montanez (Robert), Jillian Dobbs, Jaymi Dobbs, Jocelyn Dobbs, and Jensen Dobbs; sisters, Verna Marie Strawn (Bill) and Linda Marshall (Bubby); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Ellen Estes; her husband, Dick Dobbs; and her son, Charles Dobbs.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2026, at Kingswood United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Case presiding. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd, 800 E. Manana, Clovis, New Mexico 88101. You may visit www.steedtodd.com to sign the online guest register.
