Obituary

Patrick Gerald Hill was born in his parent's home on January 16, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the 5th child born to Herminia and Jess Hill. The family would grow to 13 siblings. Both parents as well as one sister and three brothers have preceded him in death. Pat was also preceded in passing by one grandson, Isaiah Hill.
Pat is survived by his wife, Judith Bolton Hill of over 69 years. Their marriage brought five children into the world. They are: John (Tami) Hill, Mark (Dee Ann) Hill, Terri (Ken) Sorley, Mike (Dana) Hill, and Paul (Michelle) Hill. Pat is survived by numerous grand and great grandchildren.
His youthful years were spent delivering daily newspapers morning and evening, riding his bicycle. Yet he found time to join his football team for St. Benedicts High School. After high school he and a couple of his buddies joined the military. He chose the Air Force. After basic training he was sent West, ending up in Clovis, NM. Little did he realize the huge change this would bring to his life. A five foot young girl melted his 6'2+" heart. They were married in 1956. After leaving the Air Force, he hired out with the AT&SF Railroad. Thus began a career of 34 years. Retirement in 1995 found he and Judy enjoying the RV life for a time. Even though he was gone from Michigan, he remained a loyal fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers. Pat was strong physically and mentally. He remained coherent until the last few days of life. His good humor and personal stories will long be remembered. He cherished the friendships of his fellow workers and the many friends from his RV travels.
We, the family, are grateful to our Lord for allpwing him to be with us over 90 years. We will see Pat on the other side.
Steed Todd Mortuary is in charge of services. Visitation will be Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 11:00 am till 1:00. celebration of life will follow at 1:00 pm.
Pallbearers are Pat's sons and grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers are his fellow railroad friends.
