Paul Layne, Jr.

Paul Vernal Layne, Jr., 74, of Clovis, NM went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2018 in Lubbock, TX. He was born on October 5, 1943 to Paul and Margaret (Gomes) Layne, Sr. of Cambridge, MA.

Paul retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant. He was also a member of the 32nd Degree Masonic Mason fraternity as of June 16, 1973. Paul was married to the love of his life, Audra Caplenas, and they shared that love together for over 35 years. When Paul wasn't busy working, he would enjoy casting his fishing rod every chance he got. He was also a die-hard sports fanatic, and would support the Patriots, Celtics and Red Sox by sporting their shoes, jerseys and hats. To those who knew Paul personally always referred to him as "The Lottery Man". He will be dearly missed by everyone.

Paul leaves behind: his wife, Audra Layne, of the home; son, Jamaal V. Layne of New Castle, DE; daughters, Kymyatta Layne of New Castle, DE and Tracy Lynn Whitfield of Oklahoma City, OK; brothers, Anthony Layne of Hudson, NH and Gregory Layne of Birmingham, AL; sisters, Marguerita Jackson of Boston, MA and Ellen Ford of Tucson, AZ; plus 6 grandchildren, Keyana, Ayana, Alexia, Jacqueline, Jazmyn and Trebor. Preceding him in death are his parents, Paul and Margaret Layne, Sr.

A Celebration of Life service for Paul will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018, 1:00pm at Faith Christian Family Church with Rev. Anthony Mahan and Rev. Donald Sawyer officiating.
