Raul Lucero

April 8, 1947 — May 24, 2025

Raul Lucero, 78, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family and friends in his home on May 24,2025.

Raul, born April 8,1947 was a man of great strength, a generous spirit, and had a deep devotion to his family. He lived his life with integrity, worked hard, and found joy cooking out, going to the lake, camping and making memories with friends and family. A heartfelt conversation, a home-cooked meal, and the laughter of his grandchildren. Can't forget the love he had for his friends, old Western movies, old cars, music, Melissa's pudding, The Green Bay Packers, Wheel of Fortune, and the nightly news.

He is survived by his loving wife Lila Lucero with whom he shared 58 years of love and partnership. Raul worked for several bottling companies and later served as a Security Guard at PRMC. Raul was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Raul and Lila built a life in faith, hard work, devotion, and family.

Raul was the proud father to Yolanda (Dan) Aguilar, Benny (Jessica) Lucero, Amy Sanchez, Ellen Garcia and Timothy Lucero. He is a cherished grandfather to 15 grandchildren, a great-grandfather to 29 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild - a legacy that speaks volumes to the love and strength and wisdom he gave to every generation to come.

Known for his solid wisdom and reliable presence, Raul was the kind of man that led by faith in all his works. He could fix anything, offered advice in any given moment, he would always brighten anyone's day with a smile or light gesture. He believed in showing up no matter the time or day, staying strong, and loving and understanding to everyone he knew.

Though he has made it to the highest alter, Raul's spirit lives on in every heart he touched. His memory will continue in the stories we tell, the values we carry, and the family that gathers - just as he would have wanted.

Raul is preceded in death by his father Benito Lucero, mother Mary R. Lopez (Pablo), Brother Dickey Lopez and sister Maryann Lopez, brother-in-laws Roman Garcia and Ruben Sena and father in-law and monther in-law Rudolfo and Rosita Romero.
