Robert E. Luckie, Jr. of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on December 27,2025 in Amarillo, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on January 5, 2026 in the Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow services at Lawn Haven Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Steed-Todd Funeral Home.
Robert E. Luckie, Jr. was born in Aurora, Colorado to Robert E. Luckie Sr., and Margaret Luckie (Faucett) on May 21, 1956. He attended school in Sacramento, California.
Robert married the love of his life JoAnn (Archuleta) Luckie on April 18, 1988. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, playing pool and barbecuing for the family, He enjoyed fishing very much. If he could find a fishing hole he would pull out his pole and catch some dinner for the night. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and riding his Harley. He enjoyed watching football as he was a die hard Texas Tech and a 49ers fan. He loved spending time with his family and his fur babies, Baby and Lily.
Robert was a very proud Grandpo to all of his grandchildren. He loved to laugh and share jokes and stories. He was a free spirit who loved the open road and country music. He worked various jobs over the years. He always said he was a jack of all trades, but a master of none. He retired in 2020 as a truck driver for Indian River where he worked for 14 years. He was also a proud Army Veteran.
Robert is preceded in death by his father Robert E. Luckie, Sr., his mother Margaret Luckie and a sister Alice Arthur.
Robert is survived by the love of his life, JoAnn Luckie; his daughters, Virginia Zamora of Clovis, New Mexico, Jennifer (Noah) Bratt of Sacramento, California and Sara (Jason) Kimbrel of Las Vegas, Nevada; a son, Jesus (Francesca) Zamora of Clovis, New Mexico; a brother, Earl Luckie of Clovis, New Mexico; a sister, Carol (Tony) Delao of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Alfredo Lopez, Jr., Angelo Lopez, Raymond Garcia, Jesus Zamora II, Jazzmein Zamora, Julio Zamora, Roxanne Napier-Zamora, Isabella Napier-Zamora, Kane Bratt, Abbie Bratt, Sammie Bratt, Maurice Kimbre; and one great-grandchild, Tony Zamora.
Pallbearers will be Earl Luckie, Jesus Zamora, Gabriel Espinoza, Alfredo Lopez Jr., Angelo Lopez and Raymond Garcia.
Though our hearts ache, we celebrate a life well-lived, knowing that Robert's spirit is now in God's glorious presence, where there is no more sorrow or pain.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Emmitt Luckie, Jr., who left this world peacefully on December 27, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. Born on May 21, 1956, in Aurora, Colorado, Robert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Robert grew up in a loving household, the son of Robert E. Luckie Sr. and Margaret Luckie (Faucett). He attended school in Sacramento, California, and embraced a diverse range of experiences throughout his life. He dedicated many years to his career as a truck driver before retiring in 2020 from Indian River, proud of the connections he made on the open road. Robert was also a distinguished Army veteran, whose service to his country filled him with great pride.

On April 18, 1988, Robert found his soulmate in JoAnn Luckie, and together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and adventure. Robert's passions included playing horseshoes and pool, barbecuing for family gatherings, and fishing-how he relished the serenity of finding the perfect fishing hole to catch dinner. A fan of both Texas Tech and the San Francisco 49ers, he spent many afternoons cheering for his teams, and he also enjoyed golfing, hunting, and riding his cherished Harley.

Robert was a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren, and his love for them knew no bounds. Known for his humor and storytelling ability, he had a unique knack for making others smile. His spirit was free and adventurous, and he found joy in the simplicity of country music and the beauty of the open road.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn; his daughters, Virginia Zamora of Clovis, New Mexico, Jennifer (Noah) Bratt of Sacramento, California, and Sara (Jason) Kimbrel of Las Vegas, Nevada; his son, Jesus (Francesca) Zamora of Clovis, New Mexico; his brother, Earl Luckie of Clovis, New Mexico; and his sister, Carol (Tony) Delao of Denton, Texas. He also leaves behind a cherished legacy of grandchildren-Alfredo Lopez Jr., Angelo Lopez, Raymond Garcia, Jesus Zamora II, Jazzmein Zamora, Julio Zamora, Roxanne Napier-Zamora, Isabella Napier-Zamora, Kane Bratt, Abbie Bratt, Sammie Bratt, Maurice Kimbrel-and one great-grandchild, Tony Zamora.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Luckie Sr., his mother, Margaret Luckie, and a sister, Alice Arthur.

Funeral services will be held on January 5, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM at the Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel, where Deacon Daniel Chavez will lead a reflective celebration of Robert's life. Following the service, Robert will be laid to rest at Lawn Haven Cemetery at 2:30 PM.

Pallbearers will include Earl Luckie, Jesus Zamora, Gabriel Espinoza, Alfredo Lopez Jr., Angelo Lopez, and Raymond Garcia.

The family expresses deep gratitude to West Texas Heart and Vascular, Dr. Colbert Perez, Texas Tech in Lubbock, and BSA in Amarillo for their compassionate care during this time. While our hearts ache with his absence, we find comfort in the memories shared and the love that endures.
