Robert Ziegler

Robert Arthur (Bob) Ziegler, age 90, passed away in his sleep at home in Clovis, New Mexico on Sunday, September 24, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, September 30th at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.
Bob was born on January 3, 1927 in Dekalb, Illinois to Frank and Jennie Ziegler. After graduating from high school at age 17, Bob joined the US Army. He served in Japan and the Philippines during World War II. After the war, Bob attended business school in Chicago, Illinois. He worked as a civilian for the Navy at Great Lakes Naval Station, Illinois. In 1953, he and his wife and son moved to Farmington, New Mexico. Bob worked for the Citizens Bank for about 27 years. He retired as Executive Vice President and Comptroller. Bob was an avid gardener, kite flyer and amateur astronomer. During the first several years of his marriage, he was a very dedicated Boy Scout leader and member of the Order of the Arrow.
Bob is survived by: his sister, Dorothy Calbow; his wife, Julie Harrison; son David Ziegler and David's wife of 46 years, Lenda; stepson David Duke; stepdaughter Jennifer Bigler; seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and one step great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Francis (Tootie) Lindaas and Ruthie Paige; his first wife, Elizabeth Watson Ziegler; and both daughters Ann Modrow and Marylou (Boo) Halbert.
