Verle Burdette

Verle Irene Burdette, of Melrose, passed away on April 4, 2024. Verle was the daughter of Clyde and Maude Carter and was born at their family farm west of Melrose on June 21, 1931. She had one brother, Lynn Carter, who preceded her in death. Verle married William (Bill) Burdette in 1947 and they were married for 54 years. Verle was a wife, mom, and homemaker on their farm west of Melrose. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Melrose.

Verle is survived by one son, Dan Burdette and daughter-in-law Janis Love of Edmond, Oklahoma, two grandsons; Griff Burdette and wife Courtney of Basehor, Kansas, Jeff Burdette and wife Sena of Zama, Japan, and one great granddaughter, Mackenzie Burdette of Basehor, Kansas.

A graveside memorial will be held at a later date in Melrose.
