Yetta June Dunlap, 79, of Clovis, NM was born August 25, 1942 in Dimmitt, TX to the home of Berniece (Cannaday) and Ewell Vernon (Jack) McLain. Approximately around 1946, the family moved to House, NM where they lived on a ranch west of Melrose. She enjoyed horseback riding and working cattle there. Yetta attended House Baptist Church where she was baptized in 1954 along with her mother and brother. She later graduated from House High School in 1961. On February 16, 1961 Yetta married Harvey Lee. They had four children together before later divorcing. October 30, 1993 she married Jerry Dunlap in Clovis, NM. Jerry brought two children to the marriage that Yetta immediately considered her own. In her early years, she enjoyed playing softball and coaching little league. Yetta loved to dance, fish and tour old houses but above all she loved her grandkids, family and attending any event they participated in.
Yetta is survived by her loving husband Jerry Dunlap. Four children, Kevin (Alice) Dunlap of Mountainair, NM; Mike (Rene) Lee of Chelsea, OK; Randy (Becky) Lee of Vinita, OK; Ch'Ree
(Chad) East of Portales, NM. Four Siblings, Neil (Alice) McLain of Bluejacket, OK; Robbie (Randy) Henry of Bluejacket, OK; Justin McLain of Bluejacket, OK; Pattie (Morris) Bluejacket of
Bluejacket, OK. 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way and numerous neices and nephews.
She is proceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Dale Elizabeth Dunlap, brother Keith McLain, daughter Kendra Dunlap, two brother-in-laws Larry & Marvin Dunlap, and a son Marlin
Lee.
The legacy Yetta leaves behind will live on through her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Yetta passed from this life at her home on February 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022 From 5-7 p.m. at Steed-Todd Funeral Home.
Services Will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home with Sherman Martin officiating. Buriel will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetary with Brandon Orgovan-Lee, Erik Pinkerton, Tanner Dunlap, Tyler Lee, Daniel Lujan, Brian Smythe, Jarett East, Kasen East, & Daegan East. Honarary pallbearer Dalton Lee.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Shriners Hospital or Presbyterian Healthcare at Home (Hospice) of Clovis.
