Ysleta Brown Kittrell passed away on July 29, 2023 at her home in Kerrville, Texas.

Ysleta was born on January 10, 1937 to Travis and Maude Brown in Clovis, New Mexico. She was the youngest of 6 children. She graduated from Farwell High School in 1955. On November 13, 1954, she married the love of her life, TJ Kittrell. Ysleta was a devoted wife for 61 years supporting TJ while he farmed and ranched. Together, they raised 2 children. Ysleta was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Farwell. She participated in many activities held at church, enjoyed attending sporting events at Farwell High School, and served on the Farwell city council for about 40 years. Ysleta was an artisan loving to paint, work with leather, crochet, needle point, and sew.

Ysleta is survived by her brother, Joe Brown, 5 grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her children, Lisa Furlow and Lynn Kittrell.

Graveside services for Ysleta will be held in the Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery on August 14, 2023 at 10:00am Texas time. Russ Ponder will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Terry Joe Craft, Rod Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter, Jared Carpenter, Lynn Cooper, and Ryan Williams.
