Brenda Banas

October 3, 1940 — July 19, 2022

Brenda Banas of Clovis NM passed away 7/19/22 in Clovis. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Brenda was born in Stanly County, NC to Worth Lowder and Mildred Eudy on 10/3/1940. Her siblings were David and Chuck Lowder and Van LaFermine. In 1956, Brenda married Richard Everett in Long Island, NY, and had 3 children, Lydina, Susan and Richard. They divorced in 1975. Mom married Michael Banas in 1983 and lived with him in Florida until his death in 2007. Brenda went to beauty school in 1967 and worked as a cosmetologist until 1980. Brenda got her GED in NY in 1975. She traveled the country and learned many different crafts that she took with her when she settled in Florida and married Mike. She taught cosmetology until 1991. Then she fulfilled her dream to become a nurse and received her LPN in 1992. That was her proudest moment. She worked for 2 years and retired. Her crafting skills kicked in and she taught scrap booking and Stamping’ Up. She was part of a Gem and Mineral Club and gave classes on that. She Crocheted, knitted, sewed and did some woodwork. She made jewelry and wire wrapped stones. Brenda is preceded in death by her daughter Lydina, her husband Michael, her parents Worth and Mildred, and her siblings David and Chuck. Brenda is survived by her daughter Susan and spouse Richard Macfarlane, and her son Richard and his spouse Chanda (in Alaska); Her brother Van and his wife Sue of Florida; Her Grandchildren Gable and TJ; Katelyn; Lily and Heidi; Kian, Thialina and Benjamin. She had many great grandchildren and a few great great grandchildren. The grandchildren and their babies were the loves of her life. Memorials can be sent to the Senior Center of your choice. Brenda’s family would like to thank the Clovis Ambulance Service, ER and Hospitalist at PRMC, as well as all the nurses, radiology staff, for the excellent care she received. Her family will be forever grateful to Genesis Clovis Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, from the business, administration, and all the staff for making mom and her family as comfortable as possible in the last few weeks of her life.
