Cheryl Hayden

June 23, 1948 — January 25, 2023

Cheryl "Cherrie" Hayden, 74, of Clovis, NM, peacefully passed away on
January 25, 2023 surrounded by loved ones, after an unexpected turn of
events with her health. Cherrie was born on June 23, 1948 to Chester Hunker
II and June (Hartman) Hunker in the city of Clovis. Cherrie lived in Santa Fe
and Albuquerque before returning to Clovis in the 3rd grade. She attended
Clovis schools and played clarinet in the Wildcat marching band. With a partial
music scholarship, she received an Associates of Arts degree in Computer
Programming from Eastern New Mexico University and graduated in 1969.
After graduation, she worked for the Clovis schools for 3 years. She then went
to work for Randco Inc. as a computer programmer for 22 years. In 1996,
Cherrie began working in Real Estate and worked for Coldwell Banker,
Colonial Real Estate, Prime Real Estate and TBG Realtors until her final days.
Cherrie was passionate about both computer programming and real estate
and loved what she did for a living. She was a member of the Clovis
Community Band and an active member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving on
the local and state level for over 15 years. She was leader of her Women's
Bible Class and a dedicated member of her Tuesday wine tasting group for
many years.

Preceded in death by her parents, Chester and June Hunker; her daughter
Heather Michelle; grand-daughter Alexandra Grace; brother Chester Hunker
III (Chuck); brother-in-law Eddie Butler; nephew Adam Landers; brother-in-law
Jack Thomas; father-in-law Otis Hayden; mother-in-law Lucille Hayden.

She is survived by her husband Wayne, her sons, Jeff (and Ana with their
daughters Madison and Hannah) and Scott. She is also survived by her
sisters, Cindy (and Sandy) Landers and Laurie (and Chuck) Craven. Her
nieces and nephews: Junie (Sylvia), Eric, Wendy, Christy, Jennifer, Barry, Ben,
Kortney, Michael, Liz, Ruben, Chris, Albert, Dan, Shelly and Brenda. Great
nieces and nephews include Patrick, Danielle, Ann, and Robert. She is also
survived by her sister-in-law Joan Thomas.


Services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Clovis on February
11, 2023 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to United
Way of Eastern New Mexico.
