Darnell Smith, 77, of Clovis, passed away on February 4, 2023 in Amarillo TX.

A public visitation will be from 5PM-7PM Friday February 17, 2023 at Steed Todd Funeral Home

Funeral Services will be held at 10AM Saturday February 18, 2023 at Bethlehem Baptist Church and Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Steed Todd Funeral Home.

Darnell Smith was born on November 28, 1945 in Fairfield ,Alabama to Fletcher James and Ethel Mae Smith.

He attended Fairfield High School and graduated in 1963. Darnell joined the United States Air Force in 1971, and retired in 1992. He worked for Intel and also for the City of Clovis Area Transit System 1994 and retired in 2007.

In 1967, Darnell Married Lillian Smith and together they had four children. On February 17, 1974 he then married Sharon Lott and together they had four children.

Darnell enjoyed going fishing, recording music, and movies, traveling, dancing, playing cards and spending time with his family. He joined the Masonic Lodge in 1975.

Darnell is preceded in death by Fletcher James Smith, Ethel Mae Smith, James Smith, Fred Smith, Loretta Smith-Williamson, Cecelia Smith, Deborah Smith-Jones, and Annie Ruth Smith-Jackson.

Darnell is survived by ; Spouse,  Sharon Lott Smith ; Children, Loreal D. Smith, Marvenar (Mike) Smith, Narvina (Cody) Smith-Morrison,  Darnell (Lisa) Smith Jr. ,Sharon Smith, Shinell Smith, Bryan Smith, Michael Smith; Brothers, Herrin Smith, Roderick Smith , Joseph Board; Sisters, Clementine Smith-Tucker, Delvetta Smith-Board and Marie Parks, and hosts of nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pall bearers: Joseph Board, Herrin Smith, Roderick Smith, Darnell Smith Jr., Bryan Smith, and Michael Smith.

A Prayer for my dad: Dear God I gratefully thank you for giving me my dad. You must really love me cause you gave the best you had. Watch over him and Bless him Lord. Keep him in our care and may he feel my love for him in my humble heartfelt prayer.
