Demetria Rena Bowers was born November 28, 1959 to Berma Bowers in Lawton, Ok.

She moved to Clovis, NM at an early age where she received her formal education. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1977.

Demetria met and married Phillip Gross and to this union was born (1) one son, Phillip S. Gross.

Demetria worked for Gibson’s Department Store before becoming a part of the staff at Walgreens Drug Store where she would continue her employment career; retiring after (34) thirty-four years of dedicated service.

She had a love for music and people. Most people talk but she sang. She would serenade you at any given time (announced and unannounced).

Demetria accepted Jesus as the Lord of her life and became a member of First Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder W.C. (later Bishop) and Mother Ange Green. She remained a faithful member until her passing. In her illness, she would listen to the services online. She wanted everybody to have a personal relationship with Jesus. She thought that there was no excuse for not being in church (and would let you know).

At First Church of God in Christ, she was involved in the following auxiliaries and Ministeries:  Usher board, Choir, Nurses Board, Praise and Worship Team, Nursing Home Ministry, Bible Band and Prayer, and Pastor’s Aid.

Demetria had a love for Bishop and Mother Green and would make it a point to go into their home weekly to help keep things straightened up. Bishop could count on her for his .”Canada Dry” Ginger Ale and nectar
