Dorothy Armstrong-Walker

Dorothy Marnell Armstrong-Walker, 84, of Clovis, New Mexico, and more recently Plainview, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, the 14th of November 2018. She was born on January 7, 1934, to the home of Lester Lee and Almeria (Snow) Henegar of Rhonesboro, Texas.

Dorothy was a member of First Assembly of God in Plainview, Texas, and Clovis, as well as Faith Christian Family Church. She sang in "The Henegar Girls Quartet" broadcast on Sunday evenings on KVOP Radio in Plainview, Texas. Dorothy was a Sunday school teacher of intermediate boys and girls in her church. She also worked as a cafeteria manager for Clovis schools from 1969-1991 upon her retirement.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Armstrong; a son, Gaylon Armstrong; parents, Lester and Almeria Henegar; 3 sisters, Lola Carter and Oleta Owens of Plainview, TX and Lena Thompson of Amarillo, TX; one brother, Charles Henegar of Plainview, TX.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Chester "Dwain" Walker of Plainview; daughters, Melody Baskin of Kerrville, TX, Renee (Kevin) York of College Grove, TN, and Marla Armstrong of Clovis; step-sons, Lester (Sharon) Walker of Lubbock, TX, and Micheal Walker of Austin, TX; step-daughter, Wanell (Gerald) Pierson of Midland, TX; brothers, Edward Lee (Helen) Henegar and Anthony (Lucielle) Henegar, both of Plainview, TX. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a much loved host of nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all.

Viewing will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Steed Todd Funeral Home.

Services will be on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Parkland Baptist Church at 10:00 AM with Wayne Boydstun and Kevin York officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Lawn Haven Memorial Garden Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers are Dustin Baskin, Barrett Baskin, Jordan York, Ashli York Richardson, Elizabeth Armstrong Aguilar and Joshua Gutierrez.
