George Villas

George Villas Sr. was born December 20, 1937 in San Juan, New Mexico to Jose Lino and Sofia Villas. George is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Florinda Villas, and their 3 children: Rafelita (Fela) Sena, her husband Johnny, Veronica (Bobbie) Gonzalez, and George Villas, Jr.

9 Grandchildren: Armando, Melissa (Jeremiah), Johnny (Suzy), Falon (Gavin), Julian, Michael, Aaron, George III (Amada), and Gabriel (Lindsey)

13 Great-grand Children: Emilio, Aaliah, Christian, Marisol, Frankii, Roland, Mario, Cruz, Mila, Wyatt, Sienna, Tomas, and Lydia

George is also survived by his older sister Victoria Baker, Brother-in-Law Joe Gonzales, Sisters-in-Laws Alice (Fernando) Flores, MaryAnn (Fugie) Sena, Marcella (Troy) Aguilar, and Bernadette Martinez

Other surviving family include many cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

On February 04, 1961, George married the love of his life and soul mate Florinda Rivera. That same year, George was drafted into the US Army and was stationed in Fort Polk, Louisianna.

George and his family moved to Flagstaff, Az in 1967 where he began his career at Navajo Army Depot, Bellemont, Az. After passing rigorous academic and physical training, George became a fireman in 1970.

In 1974, while still working as a fireman, he completed classes at Yavapai Community College to become an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). In 1982, he was transferred to Fort Wingate Army Depot near Gallup, NM where he served as Fire Chief until his retirement in 1985.

George officially retired at age 48 and enjoyed 37 years of retirement.

George was forever voicing his love and pride for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

George was an extremely intelligent and proud man. Throughout his life, he continuously expanded his knowledge by researching and teaching himself many skills and hobbies.

George enjoyed hunting, fishing, horse track racing, and playing his guitar.

George had an enormous love for animals. Throughout the years, many animals came in and out of his life including horses, dogs, cats, a goose, and a mule.

George had an affect on all who knew him. He held a special place in many hearts. May you continue to cherish the wonderful memories you all had with George and know that he loved and cherished us all. May he rest in peace.
