Gerald was born in El Paso, Texas to Charles (Woody) and Nancy Woodard on October 3, 1964. Gerald's family moved to Clovis when he was young, and he attended the majority of his school years here, graduating from Clovis High School. In 1983, he began his lifelong journey with the love of his life, Zayne, and as life would happen, eventually they formed their beautiful blended family of seven children and one special niece that Gerald was a father figure to.

Anyone who knew Gerald, knew he was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners. For many years, Gerald was a part of a bowling league and was known to be a competitive bowler. In more recent years, Gerald and Zayne spent a lot of time going to concerts, enjoying food, friends, and road trips. Gerald loved dancing (two-stepping) and he and Zayne spent many years building memories around this. Gerald, "Papa", loved to spend time with his grandchildren wrestling, playing, laughing, and attending their events. He loved his kids and grandchildren beyond belief.

Gerald never met a stranger and made many eternal friends throughout his life. He was known for his honesty, being a man of good character, hard work he achieved in his life and has been described by many of his friends as a gentle soul. Gerald was always down for a good joke, no matter which end of it he was on, he was always a good sport.

Gerald was proud of his years at K Barnett and Perry Management, as well as over a decade with New Mexico Department of Transportation.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Minnie Woodard, his maternal grandparents, Bill and Helen Robinson, an aunt (Dolores) and a cousin (Glenda).

Gerald is survived by his wife, Zayne, his seven children, Tamara (Solomon) Sena, Michael (Brandy)

Woodard, Cassie (Derek) Martin, Kashe Miller, Keaton (Monica) Miller, Ashlee (Manuel) Duran, and

Justin Woodard. His grandchildren, Solomon and Saibree Sena, Hope and Noah Woodard, HayLee and Brooke Martin, Lila, Liam and Koah Miller, Esperanza and Emilio Miller, Kaden Esparza, and Elijah, Malakai, and Esiah Duran. Also, his special relationship with Sunni (Joseph) Lopez and their children, Xavier, Lucas and Azaliah. His brother, Ricky (Lorena) Woodard and his sister, Helen (Chris) Smith.

Sister-in-laws, Laquita (Steve) Garoutte, Starla Butler, and Janice Red. Brother-in-laws, Dayle (Catherine) Miller, Richard Miller, and Chuck (Cathy) Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be all of Gerald's close friends and cousins.

The family of Gerald wishes to extend their sincere thanks to their amazing work families and friends for their support, prayers, and food during this time.
