James Fuller

January 3, 1939 — December 10, 2020

Clovis, New Mexico

James Paul Fuller, age 81, died from complications due to Covid-19 on December 10th, 2020 in Clovis, NM.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Martha Ellen Fuller of Clovis, NM, their daughter Amy Chavez (husband Eric) and grandchildren Ethan & Brandon of Albuquerque, NM.  Residing in Texas are his daughter Becky Ray (husband Robert) and grandchildren Megan & Jay, as well as his son James Fuller.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.

James was born in Roswell, NM on January 3, 1939.  From a young age he dedicated himself to bettering his life and worked his way through the company of one of his earliest jobs from stockroom to vice president.  He was an entrepreneur and businessman to his core and had many successful years in Clovis, NM and Roswell, NM after founding his own business, Fuller Supply, in 1986.  He proudly carried this great American work ethic throughout his life into everything he pursued, finding a way to turn most hobbies into businesses, even into retirement.

He enjoyed a wide community of friends that grew over the years from work and church to clubs and organizations in retirement.  Those friends could count on him to always provide levity with a joke or political quip.

Knowing what it was like to do without, he quietly had a generous heart and would never turn down a request for help from someone in need.  He devoted time and resources to his own church and others he heard had needs.  He was giving even in the smallest of ways.

To his family, he was a man of strong faith, a loving and devoted husband, inspiring father and proud grandfather, who loved nothing more than sharing the latest photos and videos of his grandchildren with anyone he could. He had a life well lived and will continue to be loved and missed long after his passing. We are fortunate to know what was most important to him was his faith in Jesus Christ and being able to hear upon his passing, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Thou hast been faithful over a few things; I will make thee ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of thy lord.’ Matthew 25:23

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by the Reverend Father Michael Niemchak at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on December 22 at 10:00 AM and recitation of the Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM.  It will also be live streamed and can be found on the home page of the church at sacredheartclovis.com Covid safe practices will be followed.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church 921 N. Merriwether St. Clovis, NM 8810.

Thank you to the dedicated doctors and nurses at Plains Regional Medical Center for providing excellent and compassionate care to James as well as the rest of the family.
