Mrs. Jean Russell Singleton passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
Mrs. Singleton was 95 years old and was born on March 26, 1926 in Blackwell, Texas to the home of Richard "Dick" Russell and Sadie (Greathouse) Russell.
Jean graduated with her Bachelor‘s degree from Eastern NM University and married Joseph Charles Singleton.
Charles and Jean created a beautiful life together and raised four children all while she taught fourth grade in Albuquerque, NM. Jean had a firm belief in the Lord and even while in assisted living, read the Bible aloud to the other residents regularly. Jean thoroughly enjoyed being a grandmother, gardening and sewing in her later years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Dick and Sadie Russell, spouse Charles Singleton and brothers Tom, Bill, Kenneth and Ralph Russell.Jean is survived by her brother Bob Russell, sisters Gerri Mullins and Margie Merritt, son Bill Singleton and his wifeTang, her daughters Betty Masters and Wanda Becker with her husband Robert Becker as well as her son Steve Singleton with his with Cindy, along with her grandchildren Rebecca, Josh, Tammy, Cody, Saveun, Sevourn, Po, Kay, Chuck, Jon, Jonathan, Michael and Jenny as well as many many great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Mrs. Singleton will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Steed Todd Funeral Home from 2:00pm to 6:00pm MST. A graveside service will be held for her on Friday, September 24, 2021, 10:00am at the Portales Cemetery located in Portales, New Mexico.
